Congratulations
to the U13 Select team for being the 2025/2026 Tri-County Advanced League
finalists!
Proud
doesn’t even begin to cover it.
The Oakville Rangers U13 Select group showed exactly what it means to compete,
grow, and represent their team the right way all season long. From the first
puck drop to the final buzzer, this group took huge strides—individually and
collectively—and it showed when it mattered most.
After steady development throughout the year, the Rangers hit their stride in
the playoffs, finishing with an impressive 4-1-1 record. They battled
through a strong semifinal matchup against Brampton, earning their spot in the
finals with a complete team effort.
The championship series against Guelph was as tight and hard-fought as it gets.
Game 1 in Oakville was a defensive battle, with both teams locked in a 0-0 game
until the final minutes. Guelph broke through with just over 2 minutes
remaining, but true to form, the Rangers responded almost immediately—finding
the equalizer just 45 seconds later and sending the game to overtime.
A 10-minute 3-on-3 overtime followed, with both teams trading chances and the
goaltenders standing tall. The game ultimately went to a shootout, where Guelph
edged it on the fifth shooter.
Game 2 was another tough battle, with Guelph coming away with the win, but the
score doesn’t reflect the effort, heart, and determination our group showed
until the very end.
While the result wasn’t what we had hoped for, there is no question this team
left everything on the ice. The growth, resilience, and character displayed by
this group is something they should all be incredibly proud of.
Thank you to our players for their commitment, to our coaches for their
leadership, and to our families for their constant support throughout the
season.
This was a special group—and an even better team.
