It’s that time of year again! As we gear up for another exciting Oakville Rangers hockey season, we also kick off one of our most meaningful traditions - The Gift of Giving Back campaign.
We encourage you to recruit a parent volunteer to serve as your Gift of Giving Back Team Captain. This individual will help rally your team, organize collection efforts, and keep the momentum going throughout the campaign. Your leadership is equally important - reminding players that being a Ranger means showing up both on the ice and in our community.
The Gift of Giving Back is all about kids feeding kids. Sadly, many families in our community are facing tough times with children affected by poverty, hunger, housing insecurity, and illness. Together, we can make a real difference. We’re calling on all Oakville Rangers families to come together and support this incredible cause.

The Gift of Giving Back was founded on these four principles:
- To encourage compassion in our young people for those in need or in crisis.
- To connect them to the hard-working agencies which support the vulnerable in our communities and also to our larger community institutions.
- To inspire our kids to lift other kids up through their own work and actions.
- To motivate them and their families to embrace community traditions of volunteerism.
We need your help to ensure the Gift of Giving Back is a success and to inspire our kids to give back within our community.
Last year, together with our teams, school, and some corporate donations we collected more than $370,000 worth of food and donations for our families in need.
This year we are hoping to exceed last year's achievement!
We need all of our Ranger families to join the challenge and start collecting!
Check with your coaches and team managers for all the details and collection bags.
