Schomberg Tournament
The Ice Dogs found success in Schomberg.
The Ice Dogs spent Family Day in Schomberg for a one day tournament. The boys were successful in the first game and came away with a 2-0 win.
The team was represented in the skills competition by four players in four categories. Alex B in goal, James in fastest skater, Felix in stick handling, and Peter in scoring. The Ice Dogs had a fine showing with Felix placing 3rd out of eight in stick handling, Peter going 6 for 8 in shooting to take first place, and Alex B came in 2nd in saves. The Ice Dogs are proud of the boys efforts. Congratulations to the boys.
The second game was a tough one for the boys. They seemed to have lost their skating legs and were unfortunate to be on the receiving end of four penalty calls. They spent quite a bit of time killing penalties and were unable to generate offence. They fell behind by a score of 3 -1 and ended up allowing two more thanks to an empty net. The final score was 5-1. It was a fantastic experience and a well run tournament. Thanks to Schomberg for hosting.
