The Oakville Rangers Novice AA team won the
Ontario Minor Hockey League Championship this weekend taking the series in 5
games with a 2-1 win over the Stouffville Clippers.
The series proved to be an exciting one with the Rangers opening up the best out of five games with two wins and a tie only to be followed up by a rare overtime loss in game 4 on home ice. The Rangers finished off the series on Stouffville ice with an exciting come from behind win.
The undefeated regular season squad had to first win their quarter final series over the Burlington Eagles and then a semi final series against the Guelph Gryphons before advancing to face the Clippers in the finals of the Novice Central OMHA finals.
Members of the winning squad consist of goaltenders Cole Stevens and Kaden Thomson-Hill and skaters Andrew Brown, Ben Farrell, Ben McKenna, Brendan Bloom, Caled St-Onge, Cody O’Neill, Cooper Simpson, Dylan Kwan, Jacob Reigate, Quaid Beaudry, Robby Gray, Salem Johnson, Tyson Rowan, William Taylor and Zachary Wadden. The team is coached by Paul Rowan, assisted by Bob Gray and James Brown, Scott Taylor is the team trainer and Tanya Simpson the manager.
