Heart Breaker
What a heartbreaker! I truly feel sorry for Nick who,
not only kept us from being embarrassed today, but deserved the shutout that he
didn’t get with only 2 seconds remaining in the game. He was hands down the player of the game for both teams
today! Awesome job Nick. You were my superstar today!
The Wolverines would like to welcome Ben to the team. Ben will be number 4 and will be playing defence. Nothing like being thrown into the fire Ben. Well done today.
The boys worked very hard as they always do but it seemed to be sporadic and on an individual basis. Today seemed like a step backwards in our development as a team. Such is the case with 11 year olds and hockey. We will bounce back. I am positive of that. The boys did work very hard and actually outshot the opposition in the first two periods. Although we were finally outshot 29-22 I believe it was our poorly executed breakout play that did us in.
We have missed a couple practices on the breakout due to the exhibition games we have been playing. We will take a break from the exhibition games to concentrate on our fundamentals and get back on track.
The Wolverines are improving every week and even this week, when we were not at our best, we were able to hold the lead until the final 2 seconds of the game. This is a team to be proud of for sure!
