Meet the Coach
I grew up playing Minor Hockey in Oakville for the Rangers with a three year break playing the GTHL before returning back to Oakville to win an OMHA Championship. For my junior hockey years I played in the GOOJHL, OJHL for the Brampton Capitals, Brampton Bombers, Georgetown raiders. Following my four years of Jr. hockey I played NCAA DIII for Finlandia University, and transferred back to Canada to close out my playing career at the University of Laurentian U Sports OUA.

Throughout my playing years I actively worked in skills development helping both amateur and professional players improve their game on and off the ice. The last two years I helped run the defense for the Credit River Capitals U15 & U16 program to help bolster their record from last place to 4th in the OMHA. The players I've worked with found growth in their games from many aspects. The main reasons for their success stems from the development of foundational skills and learning how to play the game from both an individual side and team aspect. As a coach, I feel it's important to communicate in different ways in order to give young players clear feedback in a manner that best suits their learning style. The goal is to always give players actionable feedback they can apply to their development in order to better perform and grow as a hockey player.

About The Program

What are we looking for?
As a coach, I am always looking for Compete, Character, love for the game. In my years of coaching and development I've learned that a kid who is highly competitive, has a growth mindset and is dedicated to his craft will succeed in the long term. Our practices will be very competitive at a high pace with great attention to detail.

The Oakville Rangers Elite Performance Program
The Oakville Rangers Elite Performance Program (OREPP) is a high-performance development program that elevates individual skills, team systems, and off-ice conditioning. Initially focused on our AAA teams (U10-U16) and top Red AA teams (U14-U16), this program provides the highest level of training available to Oakville Rangers players. Phase 1 runs from April 26 to June 26, featuring 2-3 off-ice training sessions and 1-2 on-ice skill development sessions per week, with most sessions scheduled Monday to Thursday to keep weekends free.

Season Outlook
I am a big believer in practice. At the AAA level your time to develop comes in practice. The key to succeeding at the high level starts with executing and competing in practice. Our team will be on the ice for practice three times a week. Our development program will consist of 1 on 1 video review with all players on a bi weekly basis to ensure the best hockey IQ development and clear expectation for our players success. We will also be off ice in the gym as a team; this will be monitored with our schedule to decide what kind of workout we will do that week.

Training camp will be an away stay overnight training camp with a heavy hockey intensive schedule with team bonding activities.

Also, still to be determined, we will also be going on a special College Weekend trip, and we are planning four tournaments:

  • Early Bird Tournament, TBD
  • Wendy Dufton Memorial - London, ON
  • Silver Stick - Whitby, ON
  • Winter Classic - Oakville, ON
