Meet the Coach
I have been coaching hockey at all levels for over 20 years. Over this period my teams have been successful for a number of reasons such as developing skills and teaching how to play the game from both an individual and team aspect. Communicating to the players as to "why" we are doing things helps the players get a better understanding of what they are expected to do. I grew up in Mississauga and played my minor hockey in the MTHL which is now the GTHL.

About the Program

As a coach, we are looking for hockey players with a high hockey IQ and that are competitive. In my years of coaching and developing I have learned that a player who understands the game and works hard during practices and games has a great chance of getting better. Team practices will be very competitive and high paced.

Off-Season Plan
There will be Spring Development following Tryouts as well as some OPTIONAL Summer Development:

  • Most activities will be Monday to Thursday
  • Powerskating (Jarett Reid and Kelly Reed)
  • Dryland Training Limitless Training

Please Note: all activities being offered between July 1st and August 22nd are OPTIONAL and are not affiliated with the Oakville Rangers

Season Outlook
I am a big believer in practice and working hard. Our team will likely be on the ice for practice two to three times a week and will also be in the gym once a week. We are planning on entering the following tournaments:

  • Richmond Hill Early Bird (September)
  • Upper York Silver Stick (November)
  • Oakville Winter Classic (January)
