Meet the Coach
Growing up in Northern Ontario, hockey was part of everyday life. The rink was the center of the community, where you learned early that effort and accountability matter. I started playing at a young age and have stayed connected to the game for over 35 years, shaping how I approach both competition and leadership.

In recent seasons, I have coached with both the Oakville Rangers and Oakville Hornets across age groups from U8 to U15, serving as a head coach, assistant coach, and in on-ice development roles. In many cases, I have worked with both organizations in the same year, giving me the opportunity to observe a wide range of players and how they develop. These experiences have reinforced that real development comes from consistency, strong fundamentals, and a willingness to put in the work.

As a coach, my focus is to create a structured and positive environment where players are challenged to improve while still enjoying the game. Effort is expected, and development is the priority. My goal is to help players build their skills, confidence, and work ethic so they leave the season better both on and off the ice.

What to Expect
Players and families can expect a structured, positive, and development focused environment where effort, accountability, and improvement are the standard. We will focus on building strong fundamentals, good habits, and a team first mindset. Practices will be purposeful, competitive, and designed to challenge players while still keeping the game enjoyable.

We believe in consistency. Players will be pushed to improve, supported along the way, and held to a standard that helps them grow both as athletes and teammates.

What Kind of Player Are We Looking For
We are looking for players who bring effort every time they step on the ice. Skill can be developed, but compete level, attitude, and work ethic come from the player. We want players who:

  • Compete hard and stay engaged
  • Are coachable and willing to learn
  • Play for their teammates
  • Show respect for coaches, teammates, and officials
  • Take pride in their effort, regardless of the result

Our standard is simple: Our best effort is not optional.

Players who embrace that mindset will not only improve their game, but will help build a strong, positive team culture that everyone benefits from.

Season Outlook
September is the month we knock the rust off and set the stage for the rest of the year.

  • 4-5 on ice sessions per week in September
  • 1 independent skills development sessions per week September and October
  • 2–3 practice session going forward per week

We will participate in the following tournaments:

  • Newmarket Renegades Early Bird: September 25th to 27th, 2026
  • Stoney Creek Tournament of Champions: November 20th to 22nd, 2026
  • Oakville Rangers Winter Classic: January 14th to 17th, 2027
  • Kingston Canadians Tournament Series: January 29th to 31st, 2027

Development Plan
Development is a priority from day one. We will begin with an 8 week foundational skills program starting the last week of August. This phase is designed to establish a strong base and set the standard for the season ahead.

During this program, the focus will be on core hockey fundamentals including skating, edge work, puck control, passing, shooting, and overall hockey awareness. These sessions will be structured, repetitive, and purposeful to ensure players build confidence through consistency and detail.

This is not a one-time phase. Fundamentals will continue to be reinforced throughout the entire season. No matter the time of year, we will always come back to the basics. Strong fundamentals are what allow players to perform under pressure, improve their game, and continue developing long term.

Our goal is simple. Build better habits, stronger players, and a foundation that will carry forward beyond this season.
