Meet the Coach
For over forty years I have played and coached many sports, but hockey is my true passion. I appreciate how difficult hockey is and consider myself a student of the game. While playing sports it became clear to me that individual efforts are key to team success. As a player and Coach I take great ownership of my teams, I thrive in a team environment, and I use my team focused attitude to create a positive, high performing atmosphere for my players.

About the Program
I provide players with the opportunity to succeed, and I am a champion for players that want to better themselves. I create an environment that promotes their learning, starting with a detailed development plan for the season (see summary below). Preparing and communicating team goals will allow players to gain confidence in the plan, embrace the coaching direction, and begin building the team environment.

What kind of player is Coach Lee looking for?
I want players that love hockey as much as I do – the type of person that gets excited to practice and play, is prepared to work hard, enjoys learning and is a great teammate. The kind of player that leads by example, is positive, respects ALL aspects of hockey and lifts their teammates on and off the ice. All my players contribute to team success, and my players are valued for their contributions.

Development Program
The players are the most important part of our team, and the entire development program is designed to support their growth as hockey players and individuals. The program includes:

  • High intensity practices that replicate game situations – we train at practice and perform in games
  • Complete player development including skating, skills, offensive and defensive development, shooting and learning to score, small area games, goaltending, vision, and intelligence; aligned with Hockey Canada's Long Term Player Development Model
  • Players learn vision to create and anticipate plays, resulting in on ice chemistry
  • Engage external consultants regularly to enhance on ice performance
  • Teach Hockey Intelligence - this includes Fast Attack opportunities driven from solid defensive fundamentals, play anticipation and possession hockey through sound decision making
  • Lessons learned at the rink can guide players as they grow as individuals
  • Have fun, play hockey and enjoy time with their teammates
